Tuesday again and time for a new list challenge from The Broke and the Bookish .
Top Ten Book Characters That Would Be Sitting At My Lunch Table (you know…back to school theme)
Since I’ve long since left school I’ve not taken in consideration the characters age, just how interesting I’d find them.
1. Claire Randall/Beuchamp/Fraser (Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon) – I’d love to talk to her about what it’s like to be thrust into another century. I’d also like to talk to her about her medicinal herbs and skills.
2. Arthur Weasley (Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling) – I think we could have an interesting talk about all thinks muggle, and perhaps I’d get a glimpse into the wizarding world as well.
3. Elizabeth ‘Lizzy’ Bennet (Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen) – firstly I’d like to talk about the differences between her time and mine, and maybe some gossip about a certain Mr Darcy as well.
4. DCI Alan Banks (Peter Robinson) – books, music, wine and maybe a little crime as well.
5. Catherine ‘Cat’ Moreland (Northanger Abbey in the reimagined form by Val McDermid) – we share a love of books and Edinburgh so I think we’d have a lot to talk about.
6. Sandalio ‘Biffy’ de Rabiffano (The Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger) – where to start, just because he’s Biffy, anyone who has read the books will know what I mean.
7. Enjolras (Les Misérables by Victor Hugo) – we could talk a little politics and how the world has changed since his time.
8. Thursday Next (from the series by Jasper Fforde) – I’d love to hear more about travelling into books like she does.
9. Tony Hill (from the books by Val Mcdermid) – I know he’s not the most social guy but maybe we can talk a bit when the others have left. He could give some deeper insight regarding the other guests.
10. Sherlock Holmes (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle) – I’d love to hear more about his methods and which ones, if any, he could still use today. We could also talk about the interesting times he lives in.
Looking at the list I hope they all have time for a long lunch, maybe even one that turns into dinner at the end.
Arthur!! ❤ it
🙂
